Questions? We have answers.
What exactly is heyGuide?
heyGuide is a digital support assistant for parental leave and for caring for relatives. A smart mail assistant automatically delivers checklists, reminders, conversation guides and legally reviewed knowledge at the right time. No app, no IT effort, directly in the browser or inbox.
When does support with heyGuide start?
heyGuide supports from the first announcement, whether pregnancy, parental leave or a care situation, until one year after returning to work. Starting in the middle is also possible. An early start brings the greatest added value, because all three phases are fully supported.
Is heyGuide also suitable for fathers and family caregivers?
Yes. heyGuide supports mothers, fathers, single parents, same-sex couples and everyone who cares for relatives. Every situation receives fitting content: fathers find support for parental leave, family caregivers receive orientation on care leave law, care allowance and relief services.
How secure is the data?
heyGuide is GDPR compliant, hosted on servers in Germany and the EU and protected by two-factor authentication. Usage data is only passed on in anonymized and aggregated form.
Is use voluntary?
Yes. heyGuide is a voluntary offer that can be paused at any time.
Why are you now called heyGuide and no longer heyParents?
Because heyGuide now supports more than parental leave. Every life stage that suddenly pulls people out of everyday life, whether the birth of a child or caring for relatives, deserves professional support. heyGuide stands for exactly that: a digital companion that is automatically there in the decisive life stages for employees and their managers.
Will heyGuide be connected to our HR management system?
No. heyGuide works completely independently of existing systems. No interface, no SSO, no IT project. Implementation takes one to three days.
How quickly can heyGuide be deployed?
Once internal approval is in place, implementing heyGuide itself takes one to three days. We are happy to show the rollout from initial consultation to start in the demo appointment.
Which service model fits us?
heyGuide offers three modules:
Parental leave module supports employees from the first week of pregnancy at the earliest to one year after returning to work at the latest, and in every phase in between. You can join at any time.
Care module supports employees who care for relatives: from the acute event to gradually increasing need for care. You can join at any time.
The Bundle combines both modules and suits organizations that want to support employees in both life stages.
Each module can be booked in the manager tandem (with support for the direct manager) or without manager tandem . We are happy to discuss which model fits in the initial consultation.
What if someone on parental leave or care leave doesn't want contact?
Someone wanting 100% radio silence happens less often than assumed. Of course heyGuide is a voluntary offer for employees that can be paused at any time. Training for the manager still makes sense, to handle this sensitive situation well, whether parental leave or a care situation.
Do we get insight into the use of heyGuide?
Yes, through anonymized live reporting with usage rates and aggregated user feedback in the dashboard. Individual data cannot be viewed by anyone.
What does heyGuide cost for companies?
heyGuide's pricing model is based on annual licenses, tailored individually to the size and needs of the administration. The costs are lower than those of a classic management seminar, with support that works continuously over months. A pilot project to get to know us is possible. We are happy to prepare an individual offer.
Is heyGuide GDPR compliant for the public sector?
Yes. EU hosting, two-factor authentication, no access to individual usage data, only anonymized reporting. Several public administrations already use heyGuide successfully this way.
Does the IT department have to be involved?
For the data protection check yes, for implementation hardly. heyGuide runs browser-based, without an app and without connection to internal systems. The technical effort is minimal.
How does the introduction of heyGuide work, including with the staff council?
The process follows a clear sequence: initial consultation, offer, staff council involvement, data protection review, implementation, onboarding. We provide all necessary documents. In our experience, staff councils are very open to the offer.
Can heyGuide contribute to implementing the equality plan?
Yes. The Parental leave module of heyGuide promotes active fatherhood, supports mothers during long parental leaves and supports employees in sensitive life stages. Managers are strengthened to support all sides equally well. The impact can be measured through anonymized reporting and documented in the equality report.
What does heyGuide cost for public administrations?
heyGuide's pricing model is based on annual licenses, tailored individually to the size and needs of the administration. The costs are lower than those of a classic management seminar, with support that works continuously over months. A pilot project to get to know us is possible. We are happy to prepare an individual offer.
What does heyGuide offer me specifically?
Depending on the booked module:
Parental leave module: Checklists for deadlines and dates, paperwork courses on Elterngeld, tutorials on topics like baby sleep or breastfeeding, conversation guides, guides for returning to work, from the first week of pregnancy at the earliest to one year after returning to work at the latest.
Care module: Orientation on care leave law, care allowance and relief services, information on dealing with acute events and gradually increasing need for care, and support with organizing everyday life.
Everything arrives automatically, exactly when it is relevant.
Do I have to download an app?
No. heyGuide runs directly in the browser and in your inbox, on laptop, tablet or smartphone. This also works without access to company devices.
Does my employer see what I do in heyGuide?
No. Usage data is only shared in anonymized form. Your manager and HR see no individual information.
What happens if my situation changes?
heyGuide adapts automatically. If the due date shifts, the length of parental leave changes or a care situation changes, content and reminders are adjusted accordingly.
I want to take parental leave or care for relatives. Is heyGuide for me too?
Yes. Fathers receive targeted content and concrete information that make parental leave visible as a natural option. And anyone caring for relatives gets orientation on care leave law, care allowance and relief services, matching their own situation.

Can I see how my team member uses heyGuide?
No. Usage data is completely anonymous. heyGuide is not a monitoring tool.
What if the team member doesn't want contact?
